Steven Roschitz
Hello! My name is Steven Roschitz. I grew up playing volleyball in Kansas City and started my coaching career with MAVs KC when I was 18 years old. I spent my first two undergraduate years working for the women’s volleyball team as a manager at the University of Kansas. While coaching with KU, I also coached with KC Power as a co-head coach with the 161’s, which finished top ten in Open at Nationals. After two years at Kansas, I transferred to Graceland University in Iowa, where I assisted the women’s program, while also earning All-Conference and All-American Outside Hitter accolades. After graduation, I took a position as an assistant at Incarnate Word University, a smaller D1 program in San Antonio, Texas. After coaching for two years, I decided to pursue sand volleyball professionally with my sand doubles partner, Pete, resulting in not only being ranked number one in Texas for four years, but also the top 40 in the US for three years. Throughout this time, I also played professionally in the NVA, a newer pro league that has been a grassroots Premier League in the United States. While in Texas, I have assisted numerous teams that have qualified every year for nationals, along with earning several pieces of hardware at both qualifiers and nationals. We have moved back to Kansas City to not only give back to the game I love, but also to grow the game that has given me so much.
Head Coach
Peter Connole
While growing up in Southern California, I learned the sport of volleyball due to my mother, a high school volleyball coach. When we moved to Florida during the summer of seventh grade, I decided to pursue basketball, which led me to The University of West Florida. Throughout my four years, I earned a degree in Athletic Training, while also earning accolades for the basketball team such as All-Academic Team, All-Tournament team, and Captain. After graduation, I coached not only girls and boys volleyball, but boys basketball as well. I then decided to work as an Athletic Trainer for the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, for both indoor and beach volleyball programs. Throughout this time, I also trained and competed at the open level, which led me to not only my success, but my ultimate move to San Antonio, Texas, to coach and train full time. There I met Steven, another 210 Beach coach, and my current AVP partner. Together, we were able to not only move up quickly in Texas as the number one ranked team for four years, but also nationally, as a top 20 team. We were also able to win the BVCA Club vs. Club National Championship in 2021 with 210 Beach. I’m excited to move to Kansas City to continue to grow the game of beach volleyball and instill the love for the game.
